Vegan Caesar Salad Baguette

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches)

For the dressing:

  • 4 tablespoons vegan mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

 

For the filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 package Smoked Seitan with chili
  • A few leaves of iceberg lettuce
  • 1–2 tomatoes (sliced into rounds)
  • 1 small red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 baguette

 

Preparation:

To make the dressing:
In a bowl, mix the vegan sore cream with the garlic granules, salt, pepper, mustard, sugar, and olive oil until you get a smooth, creamy consistency.

 

Cooking the Chilis Gabona Guszti:
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet. Fry the Smoked Seitan with chili on both sides for a few minutes, until golden brown.

 

Preparing the baguette:
Cut the baguette in half lengthwise and lightly toast the inside in a skillet or under a broiler.

 

Assembling the sandwich:
Spread the prepared sauce on the inside of the baguette and place the fried Chilis Gabona Gusztit on top. Add the iceberg lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices, then close the sandwich with the other half of the baguette.

For this recipe, we used Smoked Seitan with chili, but it is also available in Hungarian and gyros flavors.
