Vegan Gyros in pita bread

This traditional Greek food is originally made with chicken or pork but it tastes even better with our Gyros seasoned Smoked Seitan. It’s very simple to prepare, so it’s great when you don’t have too much time to spend in the kitchen.

     

Ingredients (for 4 portions):

 

For the tzatziki:

  • 5 tbsp coconut joghurt or vegan soured cream
  • 2 large cloves of garlic (grated or crushed)
  • half cucumber (grated)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt, pepper.

 

How to make it:

  1.  Fry the Smoked Seitan strips until golden brown.
  2.  Mix the ingredients for the tzatziki sauce and grate in the cucumber.
  3.  Cut the pita breads in half and spread them with some tzatziki sauce.
  4.  Put the Smoked Seitan strips in them, then fill them with the sliced tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, red pepper and olives.
  5.  Before serving sprinkle the top with some extra tzatziki sauce.
